It’s an extremely important day and occasion on the Greek Orthodox calendar, and within the Orthodox community.

Only Greek men take part in the Blessing of the Waters, where they dive from the jetty as the priest throws the cross deep into the ocean. The men must swim and seek the cross, and in the end promises the finder a year of good fortune and prosperity.
This is an significant day for Greek Orthodox people and community fun event. It’s a fascinating event that is unique, sacred. Each year it’s great event that has free entry and after the blessing some traditional food, Greek music, dance and entertainment.
