“Existence is a fact, Living is an Art.” – H.H. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.
The degree to which stress unduly influences our lives is generally underestimated. Today there is increasing evidence from the medical science that show the effect of stress on our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well being. Nobody has taught us how to get rid of stress. Neither in school nor at home, has anyone taught us to manage our emotions, feelings or our mind. Often the mind clings on to anger, guilt, regrets about the past, or anxiety about the future. This oscillation of the mind is the determining factor for tension and stress, both for us and for the people around us. It is also this stress that weakens our immune system and contributes to the development of diseases in the body.
To be able to deal with our mind and emotions is an art. There is an inbuilt ability within us to calm the mind, heal and relax the body and energize the entire system within minutes. The secret lies in the breath. The Art of Living Happiness Program explores this secret.
The program features a unique and powerful breathing technique, called the Sudarshan Kriya ®, which is traditionally understood to use specific rhythms of the breath to eliminate stress, purify and energise the mind and body and transform overpowering emotions and restore peace of mind. It releases stress and toxins at the cellular level and rejuvenates the individual at the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels.
Combined with breathing and meditation techniques, the program offers knowledge about the laws governing one’s mind, and skills that help deal effectively with our day-to-day stresses of life, thereby promoting a better quality of life and increased happiness and peace. It is cost effective, non invasive, holistic, preventive, easy to learn and practice. It provides the individual with greater participation in their own health and healing. The program is an interactive work shop of 22 hours, conveniently spread over six consecutive sessions.
Deeply introspective and fun, it is enjoyed by people of all backgrounds, cultures and traditions all over the world and is open to people of all ages and backgrounds. It does not conflict with any religious or spiritual practice. Millions of people in over 152 countries have benefitted from the Art of living programmes. It is fun and relaxing. Anybody can do it.
