Organised by the AICCI (Australian Indian Cultural Council Inc. ), the Diwali Fair Cherrybrook held on the 12th of October was a first-ever for the local community of the Hill district. This wonderful initiative was extremely well planned and coordinated by the organising team.
While the cultural performances tempted attendees to stay glued to their seats the entire day, the event provided an ideal opportunity to meet and greet friends over delicious food and drinks galore. Kids on their part were not left behind as they made the most out of various rides and a jumping castle that kept them busy.
A variety of stalls were seen, selling or providing information ranging from jewellery, clothes, food, property, banking and what have you. The Fair offered business owners a suitable platform for promoting their business as well as offer information about their products and services.
Time for sunset and one witnessed a myriad of people from all age groups pouring in to watch the spectacular fireworks.
The team of organisers sure deserve a round of applause for their dedication and efforts. Desi.com.au congratulates Parveen Gupta, Shalinder Suri, Gurmeet Singh, Harish Mitter, Abha Shrotriya, Nidhi Aggarwal and Ashwani Jain for conceptualising and implementing a flawless and successful event, which we hope turns into an annual feature going forward.
