Wednesday, 25 June, 2013, was a very thrilling day when in a packed auditorium of Burwood RSL Club, Dr. Prabhat Sinha, the Principal of Strathfield Plaza Family Medical Practice, was given recognition by the Inner West Business Awards by being bestowed with the double honour of two Awards
The two Awards were:
One Silver Trophy for Best Health Improvement Services Category &
One Gold Trophy for Strathfield Business of the Year.
There were about 9000 nominations in various categories. The finalists of each category were shortlisted and informed. Yet the suspense was there till the last as the winners were not advised prior to the night. The competition was very tough in the Health Improvement Services Category which was towards the end of all the other different areas of businesses. Dr. Prabhat Sinha was awarded the Silver Trophy for the Best Health Improvement Category amongst so many different Health Services and also the Gold Trophy for the best business of the region. It is a privilege to receive two awards amongst so many other prestigious Health Services and Businesses.
The Principal and Director of Strathfield Plaza Family Medical Practice is Dr. Prabhat Sinha. He migrated to Australia from India about 40 years ago. He has been practising in this area for over 35 years and has been in Strathfield Plaza for about 18 years. His son, Dr. Piyush Sinha, is also a very busy and a very popular doctor in the Medical Practice besides other female doctors. His wife Neena Sinha is the Practice Manager and daughter, Pallavi, who is a Lawyer as well as a Counsellor and Mediator, provides Counselling Services at the Practice. These awards also recognise the hard work of the very friendly and professional staff and are a great way to motivate them and help boost their morale.
Dr. Prabhat Sinha has been involved with the Indian Community for a long period of time. He was involved in starting the first Hindu Temple in Australia. He has been the President of the Hindu Temple at Auburn where he helped to raise funds for the temple including starting a fund-raising Annual Cultural Programme called "Navrang". He is the Past President of the Umbrella Body of Indian Organisations called the United Indian Association. He was the Fair Director for the India Australia Friendship Fair which is held each year in the month of August. He was the Founder President and was involved in organising the two Deepawali Functions held in October, 2013, in Strathfield Square and Strathfield Town Hall. He is the past Member of Strathfield Council Multicultural Committee and Member of Strathfield Chamber of Commerce. He has held various executive positions in many organisations. He has been very much engaged with the Indian community.
It has been a very rewarding celebration of a journey taken to reach this pinnacle.This is a win for all Indians and anyone who migrates to Australia, works hard and follows their dreams with passion.
