Police have charged a man with an alleged attempted kidnapping of a girl in Sydney’s south west last month.
About 5 pm (Friday 9 January 2015), a 14-year-old girl was walking on Riverside Drive, Airds, when a black Holden utility allegedly stopped near her.
The driver and only occupant, a man, allegedly spoke to the girl before she walked away.
The Holden allegedly followed her and the driver got out of the utility, spoke to her and allegedly grabbing her arm.
The girl called out and struggled free before running home and telling her parents.
The incident was reported to police and detectives from Campbelltown Local Area Command commenced an investigation.
Yesterday (Friday 13 February 2015), investigators attended a home on Townsend Avenue, Leumeah, and arrested a 22-year-old man.
A search warrant was also executed at the location and a number of items were seized by police.
The man was taken to Campbelltown Police Station and charged with attempt detain person with intent to obtain advantage.
He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Saturday 14 February 2015).
