About 3.15pm (Wednesday 10 February 2015), a man allegedly armed with a pole entered a law firm on Hunter Street.
Police have been told the armed man approached a 55-year-old man working in the firm and attempted to hit him, before the pair became involved in an altercation.
The armed man then allegedly poured hot water from a nearby kettle onto the employee, before witnesses went to the assistance of the injured man.
Officers attached to Parramatta Local Area Command attended and arrested the armed man, aged 74.
He was taken to Parramatta Police Station, where he was charged with armed with intent to commit indictable offence, and two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
The man was granted conditional bail, to appear at Parramatta Local Court on 16 March 2015.
The injured man was taken to hospital to be treated for a minor burn to his chest and cuts to his face. He has since been released.
