Federal Member for Greenway, Michelle Rowland has met with a delegation of Indian Parliamentarians in Canberra today to discuss leadership issues, development in India and the local Indian-Australian community in Western Sydney.
Ms Rowland discussed issues such as uranium sales to India and the importance of meeting the growing energy demands of the rapidly expanding Indian middle class.
“It was fantastic to meet with a delegation of MPs from India in Canberra today,” Ms Rowland said.
“I had the pleasure of meeting with Ms Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) and discussing very important issues concerning development throughout India and the Indian community I am privileged to represent.
“One of the key issues concerns the importance of Australia’s uranium being made available to India to meet their rapid energy demand.
“I would to thank the delegation for visiting and I look forward to meeting with them again in the near future.”
