Pakistan Australia Association and Rotary Club Granville organised a successful event at NSW Parliament House celebrating International Women’s day to acknowledge the role of women in our lives and denounce violence against women. The event was attended by PAA President Ejaz Khan, members Shafaq Jaffery, Dr Nighat Nasim and many Parliamentarians including Sophie Cotsis MLC, Amanda Fazio MLC, Shaoquett Moselmane MLC, Barbara Perry MP and Dr Goward Sex discrimination Minister.
It was shocking to know that 1 in 3 women in Australia are victims of Domestic Violence and still women do not speak about the violence with the worry of their marriage been broken if the domestic violence is publically acknowledged.
Dr Goward the Minister for Sex Discrimantion acknowledged the need to create awareness and create safe environment for victims.
Sofie Cotsis MLC said that the Domestic violence is taken seriously by the govt and the govt will do everything possible to reduce it.
We hope that the women who are Victims would come out of their shell put the end to Domestic Violence. “Where There Is A Will There Is A Way”
