Roddam Narasimha served at the prestigious Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and breathed his last at 8.30 pm in a private hospital on Monday. Narasimha had a heart-related ailment and also suffered a brain stroke in 2018.
Prof Narasimha made a great contribution in the field of aerospace and as a fluid dynamicist. Narasimha was in the league of the former president Dr A P J Abdul Kalam and also served as a chairperson of the Engineering Mechanics unit at the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) in Bengaluru (2000 to 2014).
He was awarded with Padma Vibhushan, the second-highest civilian award of India, in the year 2013.
