Police appeal following two attempted robberies – Lake Illawarra

Police are appealing for information after two attempted robberies occurred at Cordeaux Heights and Unanderra today.

About 7.30am (Sunday 15 February 2015), a man has walked into a supermarket on Derribong Drive, Cordeaux Heights and allegedly threatened a 38-year-old shop keeper and demanded money.

The man ran from the store empty handed after two customers walked in.

About 11.10am (Sunday 15 February 2015), a man has walked into a fast-food restaurant on the Princes Highway at Unanderra. The man allegedly threatened a 15-year-old worker and demanded money.

He left empty handed after the worker was unable to open the till.

Police from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command were called to both incidents and commenced investigations.

Investigators suspect both incidents are linked and would like to speak with a man who may be able to assist with their inquires.

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, in his mid to late 20s, approximately 183cm tall, clean shaven with light-coloured hair in a crew cut style, and a tattoo on his left calf.

In the first incident, the man was seen wearing a dark-coloured hooded jumper with the hood on, black-coloured shorts and white-coloured joggers.

In the second incident, the man was seen wearing a maroon tank-top and a silver-coloured chain.
