Police officer assaulted, three men charged – Beverly Hills

Three men have been charged with affray, and one has been charged with assaulting a female police officer, after a fight in Beverly Hills overnight.

About 12.05am (Sunday 1 March, 2015) police were driving on King Georges Road when they came across a group of people trying to break up a fight between three men.

Two police officers stopped their vehicle and attempted to break up the altercation. A 38-year-old man allegedly grabbed one of the officers – a female sergeant – by the hair and assaulted her.

Further police arrived and, after further scuffles, three brothers were arrested by police and taken to Campsie Police Station.

A 38-year-old man was charged with affray, assault police occasioning actual bodily harm (x 2), assault police, resist arrest and offensive language. He was refused bail to appear before Burwood Local Court tomorrow (Monday 2 March, 2015).

A 44-year-old man was charged with affray and hinder police. He was refused bail to appear before Burwood Local Court tomorrow (Monday 2 March, 2015).

A 33-year-old man was charged with affray and hinder police. He was granted conditional bail to appear before Burwood Local Court tomorrow (Monday 2 March, 2015).

The police sergeant was taken to Canterbury Hospital, suffering from concussion, and has since been released.
