These India-Pakistan Partition 1947 pics are extremely rare. Since 1947 almost 2.5 crore Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs have crossed the Indo-Pak border. About 1.2 crore people of northern India, i.e., undivided Punjab and North Western Frontier Province, were forced to move in March 1947. After the partition a large amount of population exchange occurred between India and Pakistan. About 1.5 crore people moved across the borders of which 72 lakh were Muslims who went from India to Pakistan, and 72 lakh were Hindus and Sikhs came to India from Pakistan. Out of 72 lakh who went to Pakistan, 55 lakh of them settled in Punjab Pakistan and 15 lakh of them in Sindh.
