We would like to Congratulate Miss Ramneek Dosanjh for winning Miss Punjaban Australia 2022 and Mrs Mandeep Kaur who won Runner Up title for Mrs. They all were seamless, graceful, beautiful, glamorous, confident and a tough competition for other participants. They flew to Melbourne a few days in advance and practiced day in day out with other National participants. We applaud their commitment to this pageant for parking their personal lives and focusing on their skills to compete, it is only possible when you have the most supporting family and friends. This is an excellent success story for others to follow!! They are surely creating benchmarks!
A special thankyou to Shama Bhangu for supporting us to run this pageant in Queensland.
Less said, events like these require endless planning, organising, time, financial support, practice sessions, endless dancing workshops, preparing the attires, coordination, nutritional diet plans, motivation, ensuring the props and minute. The girls had immense support from Mrs Virk when it came to personal grooming, the art of ramp walking, perfecting their Giddha Skills, glamming up, public speaking skills, personality development and selecting dresses. It truly illustrates her passion and commitment to the pageants. Being a full-fledged businesswoman, it was not easy to balance personal and professional life, but her dedication towards empowering the participants was unbeatable.
Mrs. Virk curated the format of Queensland Pageant 2022 event to involve young kids by adding Junior and Teens titles; with a vision to preserve our culture and pass it onto the next generations. A platform where ladies display their traditions, culture and the youth learns. This event brought tears in the audience’s eyes when they saw the ladies dressed as Brides. It is not every day we witness such emotional moments.
Mrs Virk ensured the event was in all fairness and had introduced judges in Queensland who were not just fair but very professional in their skills. According to Mrs Virk it is very crucial to ensure these events are in all fairness hence we witnessed the results in Finals where the Queensland Ladies brought home the title.
This event has created a prominent level of self-awareness and confidence in the ladies who participated in this competition. One of the participants quoted ” I never thought I would be able to participate in such pageants after being a mum”. The second one quoted ” I am glad that this event is not just about being 5’5″ or fair or slim. This event has assessed us on our overall personality which showed me that beauty is beyond the stereotypes created in our society.
One of the past winners Mrs. Anu Samra from Queensland was the showstopper at the event. It’s great to see Queensland winners maintaining the legacy.
The Star Judge Miss Loena Kaur flew from Sydney to judge the pageant along with other carefully curated judging panels. In between the event the star performed a few of her songs Live for the audience which was an absolute crowd catcher.
The heart and soul of the event Neeru Virk is enthusiastic about women’s upliftment in the society, boosting their morale, confidence and motivating them. She further adds there are several women in this community who have suffered from Domestic Violence, abuse etc and are not aware of their rights and actions. She has been helping these women on a personal level to assist them as much as possible over many years. Her vision is to bring women out of their comfort zone and shine to reach for the positions they deserve. This is just the beginning for Brisbane to witness her vision, next year she is planning to take the event to higher skies with more impact and create more significance for the audience and participants.
